| Day is done, gone the sun, From the lake, from the hills, from the sky; All is well, safely rest; God is nigh. Then goodnight, peaceful night, Till the light of the dawn shineth bright; God is near, do not fear, Friend, goodnight. From the hymn "Day is Done" (TAPS) |

We lost one of our members who was especially dear to me, Rev. James "Jim" Frazier, who with his wife, Betsy, ministered to Hopi and Navajo American Indians (and anyone else who came to them for help) at their Widow's Mite Mission since 1975. Jim was a linguist (Oriental languages, a graduate of Monterey Language School) and served with the 329th CRC and 501st CRG. I met Jim only once, at our 4th Annual Reunion in Pesacola Beach, FL in September, 1999. We became close friends over the years through correspondence and support of his Widow's Mite Mission. Jim was a life member of ASA Korea. In Pensacola, Jim graciously accepted my invitation to participate (along with Rev. Don Nesheim) in offering the Invocation at our banquet. Jim and Betsy were two of those wonderful and dedicated called servants of the Lord Jesus Christ who they accepted as their personal Savior that one meets in this earthly journey. God called Jim home to His eternal kingdom on February 19, 2003 His mission and his work will continue by his beloved Betsy. Condolences and memorials may be sent to Betsy at HC33 Box 432, Flagstaff, AZ 86004-8801. As a colleaque, as a fellow member of ASA Korea, and as a good friend, I shall miss Jim, as will all those children of God he and Betsy have ministered to for so many years. Jim would have been 69 on March 11. Please pray with me: In the Gospel of John 10:29, Jesus said: "My Father, which gave them to me, is greater than all; and no one is able pluck them out of my Father's hand." Dear Lord of heaven and earth, we know by faith You alone are able to take our brother, Jim Frazier, from this life to Jesus' gift of eternal life. Jim has fought the good fight, he has won the crown of glory. |
