When we were last in Oregon, we stopped at a Korean War Memorial, and took photos of it. More recently we did the same when we found a KWM at the San Joaquin National Cemetary. Interesting, the list from California said that it included those "killed in action, missing in action, or died in POW camps." I haven't chacked to see whether that meant that those who died of their wounds would be included, or those who died in accidents in Korea, or from diseases in Korea were included. It didn't sound as though they would have been. I remember one case of hemoragiac fever in the 329th a day after our local aid point "M.D." told him he was all right, and returned him to duty. (I don't remember his name, nor where he was from now 52 years later.) I do remember that as a result of that, when one of my tentmates was sick, he was taken directly to the MASH instead of to the aid point, and made it back to the States, and was dischargeD.
