Robert G. Rushman

CARTHAGE, N.Y. – Robert G. Rushman, 73, of 35975 NYS Route
126, died Tuesday evening at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse where
he had been a patient for several weeks.

Mr. Rushman was born on April 27, 1933, in Gouverneur to Basil and
Evelyn Vrooman Rushman.  He attended high school in Canton and
graduated from West Carthage High School in 1952.

He served in the Army in 1953 to 1956, serving in Korea from 1953
to1955 in the 303rd ASA Communication Recon Battalion.

He married Patricia Gardner on July 31, 1955, at St. James Catholic
Church with Rev. Dacey officiating.

He retired in 1998
after 38 years as a sales representative for Gamble Distributors, Inc. in
Carthage and was a member of the American Legion Beaver River
Memorial Post 1663 in Croghan.  He enjoyed working on his computer
and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and their
husbands, Mrs. Ricky (Michele) Pignone, Mrs. David (Jill) Williams, Mrs.
John (Melissa) Gibbons all of Carthage; two half sisters, Mrs. Robert
(Judy) Ludeman, West Winfield, and Mrs. Charles (Jackie) Kerry,
Herkimer; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, in the chapel of
the Bossuot-Lundy Funeral Home, Carthage.  A memorial service with
military honors will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. George F. Maroun officiating.
